Thanks to a lovely Maldivian couple - Muzu and Nima - we met in November 2024, we have returned to the Maldives in October 2025 and August 2026.  We stayed at Kaani Village hotel and spa next to where they live and also Kue Hotel in Maafushi.  They hosted us for several days including going to their home for dinner and heading to local islands on the family fishing boat.  I have also stayed at Triton Exotica that has a rooftop pool and a jacuzzi bath on the balcony.
